30/11/2007 Tragic news about Eric: after waiting a long time for a new home, he finally had some wonderful home offers; but in a cruel twist of fate, poor Eric had to be put to sleep this week. Meadowgreen have told us:

“He had been having some trouble off and on with his leg; the pain had increased over the past few weeks. We sent him to the vets again for a complete x-ray. They could not find anything, but when examined under sedation he was still managing to show signs of soft tissue pain – probably a tumour. The vet said there was no way she would allow this to go on as she considered he was suffering. This has been made all the more tragic as he had an offer of a home from the veterinary nurse who has treated him as well as two offers from people who had seen him on your site. He was a lovely dog and if a dog had deserved a home it was him.”

Sleep well now, Eric.

———-

8 year old Eric the rough-coated lurcher arrived at Meadowgreen with his brother, Keane. Eric and Keane have been waiting for someone to offer them a home together for many months and so Meadowgreen have made the difficult decision to rehome them separately to try to get them out of kennels before winter.

Eric and Keane have therefore been split into separate kennels, but at the time of writing they are still exercised together. Meadowgreen are now convinced they will be fine to be rehomed separately.

Eric needs a home where any children are 13+ years and where there are no cats. He could perhaps live with another dog, given sensible introductions.

This gorgeous boy was much-loved by his previous owners who were sadly unable to keep him and Keane.

Eric is very good on the lead and is a very special boy.
