4/9/2007 Poor Jason has very sadly had to be put to sleep. Rest in peace, Jason. :(

18/8/07 – Jason has recently had some tests done on a lump and sadly this has turned out to be cancerous. The vet has advised that it should be left alone as it is in a tricky position which prevents it from being completely removed. The good news is that it doesn’t seem to be affecting Jason’s general health and probably won’t do for a while. Could you offer this handsome fellow a comfortable home for the rest of his days?

Jason is 10 year old crossbreed. He is supposedly a Staffy x English Bull Terrier but our keen-eyed fosterer tells us that she can see a hint of Lab or Hound in there for good measure. What a fab mixture!

Jason came into our care after a relationship breakdown when he was no longer wanted. He is being fostered for the Oldies Club in Chepstow, Gwent and as can be seen below, he is enjoying visiting the local landmarks!

Here’s a summary of the information provided by his foster carer:

Jason would suit almost any family as he is so good natured. He is used to living with children and can be rehomed to live with children of toddler age and above. He is good around cats in the home – the only thing he will do is give them a good sniff! If he sees cats outside he tends to not be too bothered. He needs to be the only dog in his new home but he is OK around other dogs out and about.

He enjoys his walks – always wanting to go out with you as soon as he sees you getting ready. He does tend to howl for a while if you go out without him (this may just be because he is unsettled by being given up by his previous home and wonders what has happenened to him). When his foster carer comes home he is always waiting on the window ledge for her.

Out walking, Jason is brilliant off the lead but you need to be very cautious near roads as he has no road-sense. On the lead he does pull a bit so might be best walked on a harness. He has very good recall.

Once he’s had his walk Jason loves nothing better than a cosy nap, just like a typical old man! He always wants to be near you and tries to sneak in next to you on the bed or sofa.

Jason is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and flea and worm treated.

Jason is in an Oldies Club foster home in Chepstow. If you would like to find out more about him, please contact Liz, the Oldies Club’s rehoming co-ordinator as follows:

Telephone: 01603 405 951
Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk

He can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit.
