5/6/2007 We have heard from RSPCA Tameside & Glossop that Oz was taken to Greater Manchester Animal Hospital today and diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The vet strongly suspected that he had developed secondaries and, as Oz was in great distress, the sad decision had to be taken to put Oz to sleep.

Oz is a 13 year old Greyhound who is at RSPCA Tameside and Glossop.

Oz came to the RSPCA as his previous owners moved to rented accommodation where they weren’t allowed to keep dogs. He was very underweight, even for a greyhound, and is now in short term foster care where they are trying to build him up. The photo above was taken when Oz arrived at the RSPCA.

He walks like a dream on the lead and is housetrained. Oz would be happiest as the only dog in his new home. He is good with adults and can live with children aged over 5. Oz needs a cat-free home.

Oz is currently un-neutered and whether he will be neutered depends on whether the RSPCA’s vet thinks he’s up to the operation. (It’s usually RSPCA policy to have this done prior to adoption.) Oz is vaccinated and will be microchipped.
