Good news update: Gemma’s foster carers have decided that they simply can’t part with her. She has become part of the family and will be staying with them forever! Well done beautiful Gemma :)

I find it fascinating to watch how long it takes a particular oldie to find its new, forever home. Some dogs have will be snapped-up written all over them, whereas some have slightly less kerb-appeal and you imagine that it may take a little longer for that certain special someone to come along and offer them a fresh start.

Without a doubt, Gemma fits in the will be snapped-up category.

An adorable, gentle, sweet little Collie X of eight years old: I was convinced Gemma would find her new family quickly, but alas no. Poor Gemma is still waiting patiently in her foster home with no serious, suitable interest at all.

Gemma is the Oldies Club’s current longest-stay dog and we simply cannot understand why. She’s absolutely adorable!

I helped to transport Gemma to her foster home when she came into our care back in May and I was so taken with her that I was tempted to adopt her myself. If it wasn’t for the fact that my current female dogs wouldn’t take to living with another girly-dog, Gemma would be living here with me right now!

Gemma’s about knee-height, well-behaved and beautiful, so why does no-one want our little Gem?

If you love Collie types and are looking for an affectionate female dog who gets on well with other dogs and can live with older children, Gemma is your girl. I wish she was mine…
