Zak is an 11 year old German Shepherd cross who is at the Ark in Lincolnshire.

Zak has had unhappy times earlier in his life. He was taken in by his recent owners a couple of years ago. When they took him in he was undernourished after spending his life shut in a small room and only being fed when his former owner could be bothered. Consequently, poor Zak understandably doesn’t like being shut in a room when left at home and will scratch to get out. But if he is left by the front door, he will sit and wait happily.

Zak is a gentle giant and absolutely beautiful. Just look at those eyebrows! He loves playing and enjoys getting lots of attention. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, sitting out in the garden.

He is good with people and other dogs but he will chase cats. He is neutered, vaccinated and in good health.

Zak’s recent owners are very upset at having to part with Zak, who they describe as a very loving and wonderful dog, but sadly they have no alternative. Zak has flourished with this family and he needs another loving home as soon as possible.

Can you offer Zak a new happy home? If so, please contact the Ark as follows:

Please mention that you saw him on the Oldies Club website.
