18/3/2009 Sadly we have received news that Oliver’s health problems have got the better of him and the vet decided that no more could be done for him.
Rest in peace lovely boy

January 09 Poor Oliver now has a bronchial problem for which he has to take steroids and sometimes antibiotics. Also, crystals have been found in his urine so he is on a UD diet until the crystals have dissolved and then he will need regular urine tests to make sure the crystals don’t come back.

This lovely lad really needs to be part of a loving family – could you offer him the home he’s been waiting for?

This fine looking gent is Oliver, a 9 year old Dalmatian who is being cared for at The Ark.

Oliver has ended up in rescue as his previous owner had decided to have him put to sleep following digestive problems that were going to be too costly for her to have investigated at the vet, and also due to a house move. It has since transpired that his diet was poor, consisting of a high number of chocolate biscuits and treats.

Since he has been at the Ark, his diet has been vastly improved and the Ark’s vet has investigated his digestive problems and not found anything of significance. He still gets diarrhoea from time to time despite the sensitive diet but the rest of the time he is fine.

Oliver is an active lad who needs a home with someone who has lots of time to give him the attention that he craves. He does not like to be left and gets particularly anxious if left in the dark. He loves a game of ball, enjoys lots of walks, but would benefit from some extra training in walking on the lead and recall.

This chap has a lot of love to give to his new family and just needs the right home where he can be settled and feel happy. He is quite happy with adults, older children and dogs, but cats are not his greatest friends.

He is even more handsome than his picture shows and twice as lovable!

If you feel that you can offer Oliver the home that he needs please contact the Ark as follows:
