2/8/2010 Sadly Percy has now passed away and will be sorely missed by his family. They’ve told us that although Percy has gone he is still doing his bit for rescue; he now features on two banners used at rescue events to promote older Staffies. At a recent Battersea Dogs Home event his picture and story drew attention from lots of visitors – well done Percy.

Rest in peace old fella :(

20/1/2009 Percy’s foster family loved him so much they have adopted him!! What a happy ending for him

Update on Percy 8/8/2008
Percy has now had his neglected teeth treated, and has been neutered. He is being fostered with other dogs, ducks, guineapigs and older children: he gets on with everyone apart from one of the other dogs, where there seems to be a bit of a personality conflict, but in general he is dog friendly.

Percy could go to a home with another dog, providing they like each other when they are introduced, or a home with children, although he has not yet met very young ones, so at the moment would be best with sensible older kids, as he will definitely get on very well with them! Percy walks well on the lead, and is an undemanding dog who would be a great companion for an older owner, or would fit in well in a family home.

Percy’s arthritis is still troubling him slightly, and he does a little hop every now and again when walking. This may improve further with gentle exercise – GSBTR think that he may have not been exercised properly in recent years in addition to the other neglect he has suffered. But he is now enjoying his two short walks a day!

Percy again
Could you offer Percy the loving forever home he deserves so much?

Percy the staffy

——————————–

Cuddly little Staffordshire Bull Terrier Percy came into Treetops Kennels in Surrey as a stray. He is thought to be at least 8 years old, though it’s difficult to be sure of his exact age, he has clearly not had the best of care recently, as he has some rotten and broken teeth and only half a tail! None the less, he is a happy waggy lad who really deserves the love of a forever home.

He loves people and would make someone a very friendly companion. Percy is being rehomed with the help of Guildford Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue who will provide support and rescue backup to his new home.

At the moment poor Percy has mild arthritis in his back legs, as well as bad teeth. GSBTR are hoping to be able to get him treatment for his teeth so that he will be ready for his new owner. He may also benefit from treatment for his arthritis.

If you would like to find out more about Percy and arrange to meet him, please contact Alison Oakden on 01483-578230. If Alison is not available, please leave a message on the answer phone, including a landline number, or send an email to enquiries@guildfordstaffords.org – however, please note that contact by telephone will probably get a faster response.
