9/10/08 Tammy has very sadly had to be put to sleep today. Our thoughts are with her foster mum who has taken such good care of Tammy for her final months.

—————

Update 13/7/08 – Since arriving at her foster home, Tammy has suffered with intermittent tummy upsets and at first she was thought to have an infection and was treated with antibiotics. Sadly her vet now thinks that she has chronic colitis and any treatment she receives will only alleviate her sysmptoms and not provide a cure.

Tammy isn’t eating very well at the moment and she has days of suffering from bad diarrhoea. Quite understandably she feels very miserable and uncomfortable. She is currently on a course of steroids and antibiotics, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for signs of improvement.

This sad news has dashed poor Tammy’s hopes of ever finding a new home, so she will stay with her foster mum as an Oldies Club Sponsor Dog for whatever time she has left.

Please consider sponsoring Tammy so that we can continue to give her all the care she needs.

Tammy is a 14 year old Collie cross who came into Oldies Club care when her owner had to go into hospital. Tammy is currently in a foster home in Bath which she shares with several children and two other doggie pals.

Tammy&child2

Tammy is a gentle and affectionate lady with a wonderfully sweet nature. She is a perfect lady with children of all ages and she’s good with other dogs too. She even gets on well with chickens and ducks!

Tammypond

Tammy enjoys her walks and never pulls on the lead, but as she is almost completely deaf she doesn’t have good recall, so she can only go off-lead in enclosed areas. She quite enjoys a good ball game every now and then too!

Tammy&pals

Tammy’s deafness does not seem to cause her any problems, indeed she is a very calm and peaceful dog who is not alarmed by door bells, thunder or fireworks even when other dogs around her are frightened!

Tammy loves being with her family and having company, but she’s quite partial to a nice long snooze on her bed too. She’s also good when travelling in the car, but she can get cramps on long journeys.
