Xena is a 10+ year old cat who is in the care of AARU in Nottinghamshire.

It’s a wonder that Xena is alive today. She was one of the thinnest, most neglected cats AARU had ever seen when she first arrived in their care. They were terribly worried about her.

But Xena is a courageous little cat and she stole everyone’s heart as she fought to regain her strength. That’s why her fosterer named her after the Warrior Princess from the famous TV show.

She arrived after having 14 teeth removed by the vets, very tired and feeling sorry for herself. She has come on day by day. Her coat is fluffy and shiny and she’s eating well, even though her food needs to be mashed up because of her lack of teeth.

She’s quite happy to stay in her bed and sleep for several hours at a time but loves a fuss, and will sit on your knee for her tummy to be tickled. She likes to play with silver foil and rattling balls, even though she’s over 10 years old.

She’s okay with her fosterer’s two dogs but is very dominating with their cats. (Well, as we mentioned, she IS a Warrior Princess!)

She deserves a home and someone to love her; someone who will keep her safe so that she never has to go through the trauma of starving and being neglected ever again.
