27/9/09 A sad update to Jasper’s lovely rehoming story. He has recently lost his fight against cancer and his lovely owners have sent us this message:

Just to let you know that it has been a very sad week as poor Jasper had to be put to sleep as the cancer in his mouth got really bad. So we are all very sad and missing him loads. We could not have wished for a nicer boy – he really was a fantastic dog! We will always remember him. I have attached a photo for the website (above) of Jasper in the garden with his ball which he really loved.

Sleep tight Jasper.

18/08/09   Handsome Jasper has been having more fun.  He’s managed to get at the computer again and has sent us this.

“Well, I thought I’d send you another update of what I’ve been up to.  Since I last wrote, I’ve bene on my hols with my ‘mum mum’ and ‘dad dad’.  We rented a cottage called Turnip Cottage in Great Ashby just outside Appleby.  It was great as the owner didn’t mind me staying in the cottaqge on my own and having a sleep in the afternoons.  Well, it can get a bit tiring at my age!   I also really enjoyed showing my ‘dad dad’ the way to the loca pub – the Three Greyhounds although for a while I was a bit confused by the three stone dogs outside.

Back at home now and the holidays seem like they were ages ago.  I love playing with my toys, my favourites are still my red ball and my squeaky drill.  I love my walkies especially at the weekends when ‘mum mum’ and I walk by the canal to my favourite cafe for lunch.  We usually meet grandma there and I get treats from the owner Matt, who doesn’t mind me sitting inside if the weather is a bit dull.

Well, I think that’s all.  I’m just off for a walk now and possibly a paddle in a little stream if ‘dad dad lets me.

28/4/2009 We are so pleased to have received this update from Jasper and his new owners

Since saying goodbye to my lovely foster family in December I’ve settled in really well with my new ‘mum-mum’ and dad. I love playing with my toys – especially my ball and my squeaky toy drill. I love going for walkies in the countryside too.

Most weekends I go for a long walk on the canal to the dog friendly café ‘Yours is the Earth’ in Parbold where the owner Matt gives me a treat. I really like it there.

I’m getting a bit tired now as it is almost my bed time. I might write a bit more soon to keep you all posted. Bye for now.
