Transport Team Volunteer Required

The Oldies Club Transport team is looking for someone to join us to assist in the moving older dogs into their foster homes.

The post requires computer literacy, logistical and communication skills, use of social media & forums, a good knowledge of UK geography and a lot of patience.

As part of a team you will be given lots of support throughout your training. We will go through runs step by step until the new member feels comfortable about undertaking the role solo. At all times other members of the team will be able to provide guidance.

Co-ordinating transport runs can be stressful, infuriating and draining – especially when it is an urgent run that isn’t coming together easily but it is also immensely satisfying when you are able to help a dog in desperate need into a safe foster home. It is an ad hoc role and there may be weeks between transport runs or a number may come all at once. The number of transport runs depends on our financial situation which decides how many dogs are coming into our care at one time and whether or not owners & fosterers can do the transport between themselves or not.

If you are interested in the role and have any further questions please email oldies@oldies.org.uk
