Barney, an adorable, intelligent little 13 year old Jack Russell Terrier cross came into the Oldies Club rescue after the death of his owner. Barney went to a foster home in Norfolk where he spent a happy month doing his favourite things – including playing ball and going for walks in the park.

Barney was being treated for Cushings Disease, but otherwise seemed to be doing fine. However, we are sad to relay the news that Barney suddenly became very unwell and was rushed to the vets. He was very pale, indicating that he was probably bleeding internally, and a scan sadly revealed that Barney had a huge inoperable tumour on his liver. Barney was a very poorly little boy and it wouldn’t have been long before he passed away, so the kindest thing was to let him go peacefully.

Our thoughts are with his lovely foster carers who have taken such good care of Barney and made his last month so happy.

Run free now Barney, special little boy.
