~ Can you imagine running 100km in 19.5 hours or less? Me neither, but Euan, an Oldies Club supporter has very kindly – and perhaps a *little* madly(!) – decided to run 100km along the Saint Cuthbert’s Way in July 2017, to raise funds for Oldies Club :-)

Euan (pictured below with his own gorgeous dog) has setup his own fundraising page – you can click HERE to donate and show your support for Euan. We’d love you to help him reach his target :-)

Euan writes:

‘On July the 8th, I will be running from Holy Island to Melrose – also known as the Saint Cuthbert’s Way – alongside 200 other runners.

The route spans 100km (roughly 63 miles) where 10% contains roads, 20% paths and 70% trails. If that’s not enough, there is a 8067 feet ascent and 7765 feet descent throughout (i’ll be looking forward to the downhill parts, I may just roll down them).

Although I have been training vigorously, I am hoping that my legs will manage to carry me over the finish line, before the cut-off time of 19.5 hours.

The reason I am doing this race, apart from testing my determination and fitness, is to raise a decent amount of money for a small charity called “Oldies Club”. The excitement of a new family dog tends to be in the form of a puppy, but there are hundreds of older dogs who are overlooked for a number of reasons. However, like us, the older they get the more likely their health will deteriorate. The money raised will help pay towards vet bills and costs for keeping these dogs happy and healthy, whilst they wait for their forever sofa.

If you can’t donate PLEASE consider “Oldies Club” for rehoming, or spread the word about the older dogs who no longer have the comfort of a loving family.’

Here are just a few of the beautiful dogs in Oldies Club care who we have helped in recent months. The vet bills for these dogs alone have exceeded £13,500 to date, so all financial donations are very gratefully received :-)
