Little Mitzy Pickle Fluff (Oldies Club, fostered Hampshire)

last updated:

Listed under:

Mitzy, a very sweet 17 year old Yorkshire Terrier, came into the Oldies Club rescue when her owner went into care. Mitzy was clearly a frail little lady with some serious health problems and, very sadly, she didn’t have much time with us. But in the time she did have, Mitzy made a tremendous impression on her wonderful foster carers. Below is their touching tribute to Mitzy and we suggest you have a tissue ready…

We were not expecting you … 26 days

A late night call, a rush to keep you safe
A teacup Yorkie, so tiny and poorly
We brought you home in bewilderment
A sleepless night, but you were heaven sent
We were not expecting you

A frail dear girl, so loving and sweet
You greeted everyone that you did meet
With a waggy tail and a cuddle to spare
All who met you, loved you so
We were not expecting you

You loved the garden and your car rides
In the doggy stroller watching the world go by
Grass under you paws, sniffing, ambling along
You were happy and we were happy
We were not expecting you

The warm spring sun and gentle breeze
Made you happy and we were pleased
To see you relaxed and enjoying life
But we knew of your inner strife
We were not expecting you

Our sweet little girl, you were not well
We tried all we could but it was not to be
26 days after you came into our lives
It broke our hearts to say goodbye
We were not expecting you

The angel came to take our place
No more are we guardians of your beautiful face
You run free our darling girl
Across Rainbow Bridge where your pain is no more

We were not expecting you but we loved you
with all our hearts our Little Mitzy Pickle Fluff x x

We would like to pay a special tribute to our vet
who tried all he could to help Mitzy, to the kind
vet who was so very compassionate on her last
day and to OC support for Little Mitzy Pickle Fluff.
A very heartfelt thank you.

And a heartfelt thank you to Mitzy’s foster family, from the Oldies Club team, for caring so much. These photos show how happy Mitzy was and how much she had made herself at home, bless her little heart.

Rest in peace, Mitzy.
