‘OLD DOG OF THE WEEK’ FEATURES NEW PHOTOS AND A FRESH WRITE-UP FOR AN OVERLOOKED OLDIE THAT HAS BEEN ON OUR WEBSITE FOR A WHILE BUT IS STILL WAITING FOR A NEW HOME.

Please help Camel by sharing this page!
Cuddle monster Camel was rehomed recently but, so sadly due to an unforeseen and sudden medical emergency, his owner is now unable to continue to care for him and he is back in care with Leicester Animal Aid who are very keen to find a loving home for him. Kennels are no place for an older gentleman, especially such a people-loving one.

Camel is an 8-year-old Crossbreed who can live with sensible teenagers but wants to be the only pet at home. He loves meeting people and is very affectionate when he trusts you. All the staff at the centre love him as he’s so loving and sweet-natured, liking nothing more than a cuddle and meeting new people. He is very respectful of visitors and can’t wait to snuggle up to them on the sofa.

Camel doesn’t need much exercise, just short walks will do as long as he has lots of garden time. He can be very strong on the lead and doesn’t like other dogs or cats and therefore would prefer travelling to a secure field where he can exercise off-lead.

Camel is a sniffer and explorer and really does just enjoy a large and secure garden to play in, where he won’t have to meet other dogs. He needs a secure garden at home without other dogs adjacent to it.

Camel loves human company and would like a home where someone is around most of the time. Once he’s settled in, time alone can be built up. In his previous home he had a settled enough routine that a couple of hours being left was fine for him.

Camel is an ideal companion for anyone who loves to be loved. He is an undemanding dog, easy to live with and has so much love to give.

As well as cuddles and bum scratchies, Camel loves his food!
