7/12/09 Poor Charley has had to be put to sleep. She’s been unwell and a vet examination has shown up mammary tumours and a growth on her spleen. Her friend Defer is pining for her :(

——–

Charley is a 13 year old medium sized Crossbreed lady who came to the Ark with her friend, Defer. Their owner stated eviction as being the reason for needing to rehome this old pair of dogs that had been with the family since they were pups.

Charley and Defer would love to find a new home together, but the Ark realise that it may be difficult to find a home that will take two dogs and so they would consider home offers for them separately rather than make them face a long cold winter in kennels.

Charley is a friendly and well-behaved old girl who likes people and is known to be fine with children. Despite getting on well with Defer, Charley doesn’t like other dogs, and she’s not a cat lover either. She’s never shown any aggression though and is housetrained. She can safely be left for a reasonable time.

Poor Charley finds herself without a home at a time when she should be feeling secure in her latter years. She now needs a loving retirement home in which she can feel safe again. Can you help her?

It isn’t known whether Charley is neutered and she is said to be vaccinated but with no certificate. She arrived at the Ark with a severe flea allergy which is being treated, but she is otherwise fit and well.
