Today we wish little Trish, one of our gorgeous Oldies Club sponsor dogs, a very Happy 17th Birthday!
Yes, dear little Trish has reached a wonderful 17 years of age :)
Trish’s foster family tell us that Trish is a little girl who likes to sleep most of the day and night and have lots of TLC.
She has a few health problems, including a hip and heart condition and she is sadly going blind, which means she does not like to walk very far in the woods. She does love the beach though, which is soft on her feet, and she enjoys pottering around the garden.
Trish loves to be warm, so likes to lie in the sun or near a fire. She hates the rain and snow and her foster family have kindly given her a cat litter box to use when she doesn’t want to venture outside.
Little Trish spends time sitting on people’s laps in the evening, enjoying a cuddle. She is a loving dog and very friendly to her foster family’s grandchildren, as long as they are quiet.
Trish led a sheltered life before arriving in Oldies Club care some years ago and she is still wary of big dogs, however gentle they may be. She’s also very nervous if friends of her foster family visit. She clings to her little doggie friend Sophie, who likes to mother her and give her the confidence she needs. They like to sleep in the same place and eat at the same time, though Trish is very fussy and will only eat certain foods!
Trish’s loving foster Mum and Dad tell us that they can’t quite believe she is 17 years old as she has been so frail in the past. They’re very proud of her and hoping she will enjoy a little party with a few friends to celebrate and that our supporters will send her loving Birthday messages.
Oldies Club is very grateful to Trish’s foster family – and everyone who fosters for us – for opening their hearts and homes to help our oldies when they need them. We also very much appreciate our supporters, including those who sponsor our oldies. Thank you :)
