10/8/17 – Max has passed away. He was well loved and happy in foster care. Sleep tight lovey boy.

This is Max, a handsome brindly bundle of love! 8-year-old Max was picked up as a stray and luckily found himself rescued by National Animal Welfare Trust who found him a comfy, loving foster home while he waited for a permanent one. Now, however, Max needs a new foster home, or even better, a permanent home so his foster family can take a well-deserved holiday this summer. Max would prefer not to go into kennels, so he hopes that by being featured by us at the Oldies Club, that someone will be able to foster him. If you would like to help Max, but are unable to foster him yourself, please get the word out by sharing his page far and wide!

Here is what Max has to say for himself:

“Hello, my name is Max and my best quality, if I had to pick just one, would be my affectionate nature! I am an active lad who enjoys going out for walks but once I’ve had a stroll I settle down for a nap. You’ll hear me snoring the day away here at the centre!”

“I will make a great addition to a family and there is no doubt I will make you a very loyal and loving companion. I have a huge amount of love to give and will bond very quickly and strongly to my new family.”

Because Max was a stray, nothing is know of his previous history, but he quickly wins hearts with his affectionate nature. He loves everybody he meets and makes new friends wherever he goes. There is no doubt that he would make a loving and loyal family member if given the chance. He absolutely adores his home comforts and spends his days snoozing or lazing in the most comfy spot he can find, enjoying your company.

Although Max tends to be on the lazy side when it comes to relaxing, he has an active side as well and he enjoys going for short walks.

Max’s main priority is to be with you. He is sadly an anxious boy who does not like being by himself. He craves human companionship and wherever he goes, he wants to come along. His new owners will want to spend lots of time with him as well! He would prefer someone to be around most of the day or can take him along when they go out. It is very important that his new owners can work with him on his training and give him the confidence he needs where his separation anxiety problems are concerned.

Since arriving in rescue, Max has been diagnosed with a couple of medical conditions for which he requires daily medication. He is, however, able to enjoy his life as any dog does as long as he is well taken care of.

Max loves everybody, including children, and can share his home with children over 12. He does, however, need to be the only pet in his foster/permanent home. He is fine with other dogs, but would like to have you all to himself! He would love to snuggle up to an older person or retired couple who can be around a lot, snoozing away, comforted in your presence.

Max is such a handsome, loving boy and at his age, it would be tragic for him to have to go into kennels when he so loves human company and a comfy home. He is very much loved at the centre, but nothing really takes the place of a family and loving home. He has been a very gracious boy to allow his foster family the time they need for a holiday, so we at the Oldies Club really hope there is a special person or family out there who can take this special boy in and give him the love and attention he craves in his older years.
