3/11/2022 A very happy Buddy has found his new home.

Poor Buddy arrived with Wonky Pets Rescue via the Dog Warden after he was signed over. He has had a really rough life, bless him, spending years living outside a caravan on a chain and clearly given a hard hand and foot at times. His rough treatment has left him an anxious lad and he is reactive to certain people, sudden movements and over handling.
Buddy is a cute, 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier. He was fear-aggressive at first as he was so scared and took some time to settle in his foster home in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, and start to trust people. He was terribly matted and in a smelly state because he hadn’t been groomed in years, Now his foster mum has built a bond with him, he lets her do most things and loves to jump on her lap for a cuddle and a fuss, but new people or men need to take things very slowly and let him get to know them. Buddy will bite if startled or over-fussed by people he doesn’t trust 100%. HE NEEDS A HOME WITH EXPERIENCE OF AN ANXIOUS BITER LIKE BUDDY WHO CLEARLY UNDERSTANDS THE HANDS-OFF APPROACH AND HAS THE PATIENCE AND COMMITMENT TO STICK WITH HIM.
Buddy is generally good with other dogs; he is sharing his home with lots of other little ones. He could live with a mature, small, spayed, female dog quite happily and possibly an older, laid-back, neutered male, or he could be an only dog in the right home. He will bark at cats when he can’t get to them but is actually a bit scared of them if they stand their ground. Buddy cannot be homed with children or visiting small children.
Buddy is housetrained, sleeps quietly at night, walks okay on the lead and he travels fine in the car. He is anxious with the vet and care needs to be taken. He needs desensitising to the grooming process too but is quite short-haired now as he had to be shaved, so there is time to work on this before the clippers need to come out again. Buddy will need a home with a nice, fully enclosed garden to play in.
Buddy is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and flea/worm treated. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks’ free pet insurance and has a clean bill of health.
