17/5/24 – Reena has found a new home!

Reena is about 7 years old and is a French Bulldog being rehomed by Saving and Rehoming Strays in Ayr, Scotland.
Little Reena is in rescue after being abandoned with a temporary fosterer along with two old Bichons. She is a very tiny Frenchie weighing only 7.8 kilos, and is an absolute sweetheart.
Reena is a very special little dog and, although not disabled in any way, she has clearly had some growth (birth) defects and has a very short body and rather barrelled chest. It has been difficult for Saving and Rehoming Strays to get a full medical history, but Reena does have quite bad scarring on her head and on one side. As the vet was unsure as to the cause, Reena has had spinal x-rays and full blood works, and although Reena’s spine is severely deformed, she is healthy in every other way. She has now had a full dental, been spayed and is up to date with her vaccinations.
She is such a special girl who would let you love her all day. The rescue thinks she would fare better as an only dog, or perhaps with a very gentle dog, as she would rather be cuddled than play with other dogs.
Reena is house trained, crate trained and lead trained. Little Reena would be perfect for a home with older people and, whilst she could live with older children, it is thought that at this age in her life she would prefer a quieter home where she will be the centre of attention.
Saving and Rehoming Strays acknowledge that insurance companies are unlikely to cover some healthcare needs that may arise as a result of Reena’s known medical findings, and they are therefore open to discussing financial support for pre-authorised conditions that are outwith the scope of her insurance, if this is required.
