Dear boy Barney has been looking for his forever home for 8 years ! He is in the care of Dogs Trust Merseyside and it is hoped that now is his time to shine, and at last he will find a comfy warm sofa to rest his head. He is 9yrs of age, a bundle of energy and fun, just looking for the right humans to take him home.

Barney is a lively boy with lots of energy and is raring to go. He’d like his family to match his energy levels and also work with him on his training. He is super smart and loves learning. He adores agility and is a real star, getting on and off the equipment without being asked ! Check out Barney having fun on the agility course here.

When he’s not out and about, Barney is happy to lounge across the back of his sofa. When he’s in the mood, he can be a real snuggler, and likes to be close by you, just watching the world go by. Once slowly introduced to other dogs, Barney is fine, but needs to be the only dog in the home.

It’s essential that Barney lives in a quiet, child and pet free environment, preferably with few visitors, and has his own garden. Barney needs a special family who are willing to work with him, and allow him time to settle, without pushing him. He will repay you with so much love and loyalty.

He is under a training program at the centre that will need to be kept up in the home, and he will need multiple meets there before he goes home. Full support will be given by the Dogs Trust Training and Behaviour Team, throughout all stages of Barney’s adoption, and his adopters must be willing to work closely with the team.

Barney is such a special boy who just needs someone to commit to him, and make slow introductions to new people and places. Could Barney fit into your home and finally leave his kennel for good !
