‘OLD DOG OF THE WEEK’ FEATURES NEW PHOTOS AND A FRESH WRITE-UP FOR AN OVERLOOKED OLDIE THAT HAS BEEN ON OUR WEBSITE FOR A WHILE BUT IS STILL WAITING FOR A NEW HOME.

Please help Bea by sharing this page!
This gorgeous girl is a small but sturdy 8-year-old Crossbreed called Bea. She’s currently in kennels in Shropshire through Sadies Dog Rescue, waiting for a foster or permanent home.

Bea is looking for a retirement home with no other pets or children. She has previously lived with other dogs but had a serious falling out with one at her previous home and it’s thought she’d be happiest as the centre of attention.

Bea is very affectionate with her people. She is wary of strangers, especially men, and if unknown people come to her home she might tell them to jolly well behave themselves. Experience of protective behaviour would definitely be a bonus for her prospective foster carer or adopter. Sadies Dog Rescue will provide behavioural support if needed. A bit of treat-based training goes a long way and she’s improved since being in kennels and doing some consistent work on her social skills.

Bea is clean in the home and can be left for reasonable periods once she’s settled in. She wants a secure garden to potter about in at her leisure. She’s generally good walking on the lead but can be strong at times.

Bea prefers walks where she won’t meet other dogs too much as she can be reactive/protective. She did have an unfortunate incident once where she had a kerfuffle with another dog and their owner tried to separate them and Bea nipped them in the confusion. Apart from this episode, she’s never actually bitten anyone and an owner/foster carer who’s used to reactive dogs will easily be able to avoid any similar situations. Bea is really a soppy homebody who just wants to love and be with her people.

If you might be able to foster this sweet girl and give her some home comforts please contact Sadies Dog Rescue as follows:
