Super Stanley is a big lovebug who was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania. He’s now safely living in Cheshire (CW5) and is waiting to go to the loving, forever home he deserves. Stanley is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
Stanley is 8 years old and is a medium/large Crossbreed male weighing 25.5kg. He absolutely loves to shower you in kisses and is very friendly with people. He likes to stop when given attention out on walks. He loves cuddles and likes to be as close as possible to his human and have strokes all over.
Stanley has not met children, however it is felt he could potentially live with dog-savvy children aged 14+, though he would probably enjoy a quieter, adult home. He is a heavy sleeper and noises like the door bell, cars passing, the TV, washing machine, etc., don’t disturb his sleep. He loves his food and his current favourite snack is frozen blueberries and doggy peanut butter!
While in kennels, Stanley shared with another dog but he started to guard his food. He was reactive to other dogs when in his kennel but was happy to go on group walks and tolerated dogs when outside, although he does not like it when other dogs get too close to him. Stanley went out a lot with the kennel volunteers, walking nicely on the lead without pulling. He displayed no signs of male reactivity or nervousness around strangers.
Stanley accepts a collar and lead and is good on walks, only pulling occasionally for smells and is easily corrected. He can growl and lunge at dogs on walks. His new owners will need to work with him to reduce his anxiety towards other dogs and he will be best suited to living in an area with minimal dogs in the vicinity. Stanley has not ever met cats and, due to his issues surrounding dogs, it is felt a pet-free home is best for him.
Stanley is toilet trained but not crate trained. He is not a destructive dog and has never chewed or destroyed anything. He doesn’t play with toys yet but likes to steal socks and toss them around. He also likes to watch TV and will sit in front of it. He sleeps well in his bed all night.
Stanley is very happy to travel in the car although he needs to be lifted in. He can be anxious at the start of the journey, however does settle after setting off.
