9/1/18 – Pretty Sooty has found her new home!
——————-

Pretty Sooty is an 11 year old Brittany Spaniel lady who finds herself in a Freshfields Animal Rescue foster home in Liverpool because her elderly owner moved into a nursing home.

Sooty has been a loyal companion to her owner since being a puppy so this change of circumstances must be so confusing for her. Luckily, Sooty is in a foster home with a member of the kennel team, rather than being in frightening kennels, and she is doing very well there. She deserves to be settled in a permanent home as soon as possible though.

Sooty is sharing her foster home with other dogs and cats and she gets along really well with them. Her foster mum feels she would benefit from living with other animals in her new home. Sooty has a lovely temperament, but a quiet home where any children are older would suit her best. She is happy to be left alone for a few hours but will scratch at the door if she knows you are there. She is still very playful for her age but can only manage short walks. She needs help getting in and out of the car.

Sooty is not in the best condition at the moment as she has a skin condition and is quite overweight. Her eyesight is not perfect but she can still see and gets about well. She has had blood tests which have all come back as normal, and she is already starting to lose weight. Her skin is also improving with medicated baths.

Sooty is one of the most sweetest old ladies ever. She has taken everything in her stride and even seems to have a new lease of life. She will make such an entertaining and adorable friend for her adopter.
