11/9/09 Sadly poor Titch has been put to sleep today. She had been unwell for a few days and the vet found an inoperable stomach tumour. Thanks to her wonderful foster mum Titch has had plenty of love and TLC. Sleep well Titch.

Titch came into Oldies Club care with her best friend Pip. Titch is about 11 years old and is a quieter old girl who will be a wonderful friend for someone who wants a less active oldie. Because Pip is quite a bit younger than Titch, we feel that Titch would get on fine if she found a home without Pip, as long as she had the company of another dog. It would be lovely if someone wanted to adopt them both together though.

Titch is a Labrador cross girl, about medium sized but a bit smaller than a normal Labrador. Here they are together (Titch on the right with the white front left paw).

Titch has settled really well in her foster home and still enjoys a game of fetch. She is looking for a loving family home as she does love children, though there will need to be room for Titch to have a little space to herself when she wants to relax, so a home without very little ones would be best.

Titch is sociable with other dogs and has not really taken much notice of cats when out walking.

Titch is fine in the car, although she may need a little help getting in and out. She enjoys gentle shorter walks and is good off the lead with good recall. Titch is happy to be left for up to 4 hours with no problem at all, though as she is used to having dog company, we feel that she may not be happy to be left entirely on her own.
Health wise, Titch has a heart murmur, for which she needs medication. She is a little stiff, and finds stairs a bit tiresome as her back legs are a little wobbly.

This is what their foster carer has to say about Titch and Pip:-

“The are both really sweet dogs and I wish we were in a position to give them a permanent home. If we were, I would not hesitate to adopt them permanently. When they are adopted we will miss them so much as they are both great little characters.” Praise indeed – that sums up Titch and Pip perfectly.

Since coming into Oldies Club care, Titch has been vet checked and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.

Titch can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
