31/8/11 – We have just received the sad news that Bruce has been put to sleep. Here is what his carer had to say about him:

Sadly, we had to have our lovely Bruce put to sleep over the weekend :( He suffered a series of strokes and went downhill very rapidly. Despite living rough and being mistreated in his past he was such a happy boy with us and his tail was wagging right to the end.

Sleep tight, Bruce.

This is Bruce and he’s an eight year old crossbreed boy who was rescued from the pound. Poor Bruce was in a pitiful state which is not surprising considering he had been dumped and left to run loose in an old quarry. Luckily Bruce is now in the care of Rain Rescue in Rotherham, South Yorkshire where he is being restored to health.

This gorgeous older boy is very loving and affectionate and he would enjoy a quiet home with someone who can give him plenty of attention and TLC. He deserves some kindness in his life after all he’s been through.

Bruce is good with other dogs and would be fine sharing his new home with a canine companion, but he needs somewhere cat-free. He’s good with people and would be happy living with older children.

Bruce isn’t currently neutered and he’s being treated for a flea allergy, but is otherwise in good health.
