2/4/11 Very sad news about Poppy. She was off colour so was taken to the vet and he suspected a growth. A scan showed a large tumour affecting several organs and the only option was to put Poppy to sleep. Rest in peace now lovely girl.

————————-

Poppy is such a sweet girl, all she wants is a loving new owner who can give her all the care and attention she deserves.  At the moment she’s in the care of the Ark and they’re hoping there is someone out there who will fall for Poppy and take her home.

She’s a medium sized cross breed, black with an appealing grey muzzle.  She’s around 9-10 years old and is in rescue because her owner no longer has the time to care for her.   She appears to be quite fit except for a bit of stiffness in her back legs.

Poppy likes a quiet life and gets a bit nervous when there are a lot of people around so a quiet home would suit her best – ideally perhaps with an elderly owner so that she can be the centre of someone’s world.    She has lived with young children in the past but more than one at a time is a bit much for her.    She lived with another dog and would be fine with a canine companion.  She’s wary of cats though.

Poppy is fine with few people around and is best on a one to one basis. She’s never shown any aggression, she’s house-trained and used to being left up to 4 hours.       She sleeps in her own bed in the kitchen and travels well.    She’s good on the lead and off and prefers to be off lead and has good recall.  She plays with toys when out on a walk.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion Poppy could be ideal for you.  For more information please contact the Ark  as follows:
