14/5/12 – We just had some very sad news from South East Dog Rescue – ‘Connie had a home lined up for this week but, devastatingly, she died today on the way to emergency vet of bloat. I’m absolutely devastated. Thank you so much for putting my beautiful girl on your site.’ Run free, Connie.

This lovely lady is Connie, a 9 year old Weineramer who is looking for someone to love her and offer her a new home where she can have an enjoyable retirement. She is currently being cared for by South East Dog Rescue.

Connie can be a little shy with new people, but bonds quickly to those show her love and affection. She has a sweet and loving nature and loves nothing more than to nuzzle into your hand and have lots of cuddles.

The rescue were told that Connie didn’t like other dogs when she arrived but she now mixes daily with the 25 other dogs at the sanctuary without a problem. She does tend to get a little worried when another dog approaches her primary carer in a confined space, however, so she would perhaps do better as an only dog in her new home. She may be able to live with another dog if they are introduced and with an experienced owner.

Connie was signed over to the sanctuary because she has become urinary incontinent. Although she is clean in the house during the day, she does tend to wet the bed at night, so her blanket will need to be washed daily.

Connie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. All she wants now is someone of her own to love. It is so sad to think that she has been given up for the sake of a washing a blanket each day! When her previous dad left her at the sanctuary she literally stood on her two back legs, pulling like mad and whining as he drove away…. leaving her to start all over after 9 years of being a loyal companion.

Connie melts the heart of everyone who meets her. She has been dumped with people and dogs she doesn’t know, yet she loves everyone at the sanctuary as if she has been here for years…and they love her in return and just want to see her happy again.

Connie has not lived with children and so would like a home with children aged 12 plus. She can be cat tested if needed. She does mix well with the chickens and ducks at the sanctuary!
