5/3/14 We’ve heard the sad news that Bear had to be put to sleep when his old legs finally gave up on him. Sleep tight now, Bear.

Bear is a 10 year old Rottweiller boy who is in the care of Halfway Home Dog Rescue and needs a long term foster home, close enough to Newark for Bear to continue to use Halfway Home’s vet.

Bear now tells us his story:

I was due to be put to sleep on 20th September, and if Halfway Home hadn’t come to my rescue, I wouldn’t be here.

I am a very happy and friendly lad, and I am quite energetic and active, despite having rather wonky legs. I have been told that a vet might be able to help me out with this, and Halfway Home have found me a foster home while I wait for a permanent home. I like a good play, particularly with squeaky toys, so if you could offer me that, I would be extra happy.

Just to be loved and cared for is all I really ask. If you can offer me a long-term foster home in the Newark area, please get in touch with Halfway Home Dog Rescue as follows:

Please mention that you saw Bear on the Oldies Club website.
