25/11/2014 Sad news, little Shaun has passed away – his arthritis had deteriorated over the past 8 weeks. It was hoped it would ease but it just kept getting worse and he was in a lot of pain.

Shaun is a 10 year old West Highland White terrier who is at Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Shaun needs experienced owners who will be willing to adapt a little to his way of doing things.

He is shy of new people, but he likes to have his owners around for company, so needs someone home most of the time. You should be willing to visit a lot before adoption so you can get to know each other – Bath suggest regular visits over a few weeks.

Shaun loves playtimes and has many toys! He would be happy to not go for walks and just have a secure garden to play in. He likes to be fussed on his own terms and is not keen on having his paws touched, so will need an understanding owner who can learn his limits. He cannot live with children or other pets.

Shaun will need a space to call his own in the home – perhaps a small room that can be barred off with a child gate or similar. This is for a training system that Bath have worked on with him, and which helps him feel secure during stressful moments. Bath have a resident Behaviour Team who will work with you before and after adoption to show you how to help Shaun.
