16/3/2015 It’s with a heavy heart we report that Summer passed away on Sunday; she had a stroke. She went to the vet, came home and just went to sleep.

Senior Staffy Club would like to introduce Summer, a 12 year old, gentle and quiet Staffordshire Bull Terrier lady who needs a loving home after she was found wandering the streets as a stray and taken to the local dog pound. Things didn’t look too bright for Summer there but she is now safe in a Senior Staffy Club foster home.

Summer is a small girl who is now looking for the quiet life. She does not mind sharing with another dog – in fact she shares her foster home with a male dog now. Summer loves cuddles and would like some company during the day. She has not met any cat creatures but she can be cat-tested with one if necessary. She could also live with children aged 8 years+.

Summer has been to the vets and all sorts done to make her better after her time on the streets – a dental, blood tests, x-rays – better than a pamper day! The vet has found that she has an enlarged heart but there is no need for medication and she can still enjoy her walks. Summer does have a limp on her front leg which is a touch of arthritis so she has to take some arthritis medicine to help with that.

Summer is vaccinated and microchipped. At the present time it’s unsure if Summer is spayed or not, but if she isn’t and the vet advises it can be done, the rescue will pay for this. She is in foster in the Leicester area but can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit.

Summer is more than ready to join her new family – could she come and live with you?
