Alfie (RSPCA West Hatch, Somerset)

15/12/18 – Alfie has gone to his new home!

Alfie is a very handsome 10 year old Rottweiler who was transferred to RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre, near Taunton in Somerset, from another RSPCA Centre where he wasn’t getting any interest, poor boy.

West Hatch tell us that Alfie is a joy to look after and is already a favourite amongst the staff. He knows basic commands and walks nicely on the lead. Alfie can be a bit wary of handling, particularly at the vets, so they have been doing lots of positive handling work with Alfie and he has come on in leaps and bounds.

Alfie would suit a home as an only dog with someone who has experience of large breed dogs. He needs a home without cats and it isn’t known if he is used to children.

The kennel environment is not ideal for any dog but it is always sad to see an older dog in kennels, particularly over the winter months. If you think that you could offer this loveable chap a retirement home, the rescue would be very pleased to hear from you.
