29/4/18 – George and Mildred have found a home!

Just like an old married couple, George and Mildred are a really sweet pair of 8 year old Yorkshire Terriers who have not had the best of lives. They arrived in rescue in quite poor condition with terrible teeth and George had a nasty cyst on his back. Pro Dogs Direct have treated their teeth and, of course, removed George’s cyst to make them both feel much more comfortable.

Mildred is happy to have a fuss and will roll over for a tummy tickle. She is a clever girl who also gives paw. George is more nervous and it will take a little time and patience for him to settle and gain in confidence. They are a bonded pair and must be rehomed together. They are happy to cuddle up in bed at night, content to be with each other.

George and Mildred are in foster care in Basingstoke, Hampshire. It is unknown if they have lived in a home prior to coming into rescue, probably not. House-training is a work in progress and a few accidents should be expected as they settle.

George and Mildred know nothing of walking on a lead yet; again, their fosterer is working on this with them but training will need to be continued in their new home at a pace they are happy with and in a gentle and positive manner to ensure they do not become more fearful.

They eat well and travel fine in the car (crated). George and Mildred are not cat friendly, and probably not good with small furries either. As there is little history for them, a child-free home would be best. Visiting grandchildren would be fine provided that the dogs have a secure place to go to if they are not comfortable.

George and Mildred have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and both had extensive dental treatment.
