14/9/18 – Pretty Poppy has found a home!
RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre in Taunton, Somerset bring you the delightful Poppy! She’s a lovely natured girl who could live with sensible children from age 12 but wants to be the only pet at home. She loves a fuss and wants to be with you most of the time.
Poor old Poppy was found abandoned in a property and came to West Hatch dreadfully underweight and in such poor condition that she required emergency veterinary care. After her initial condition was stabilised, a feeding programme was put in place providing her with regular small meals of sensitive wet food throughout the day. As her condition slowly improved she was given longer and longer walks to help build her strength.
Poppy is now much better and although still a little wobbly, she loves her walks and pottering in the compounds. She has also benefited from spending much of the day sleeping in the Inspectors’ office and raiding their bins!
Poppy now is at a stage where she can look for a new home with owners who have a quiet life and experience of old dogs. Although getting on a bit, Poppy has a fun outlook on life and will make a loyal and endearing companion. A sense of security and of being surrounded by love is what Poppy needs now. Plus treats please!
Given what happened to her, it’s not surprising that she may become stressed when left and so it would be best if her new owners were around most of the time to keep her company.
If you can give dear, deserving Poppy the companionship she seeks, please contact RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre as follows:
