2/10/19 – Kia has found a home!

Pretty Kia is a 12-year-old medium-sized Terrier Cross who urgently needs a new home as her elderly owner has moved into a care home. Kia is alone in the property with family members calling in to feed and walk her, however this is obviously only a short-term solution and Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool are desperate to find her a new family as soon as possible.

Kia has been described as the perfect dog who is friendly, affectionate and loving. She is calm and well-behaved in the home and enjoys company. Generally quiet, she is well-mannered and exceptionally clean, bless her. She will make a fantastic companion for a retired person or couple.

Kia is in wonderful health for her age and it is hard to believe that she is 12. She has the start of a cataract in one of her eyes but this is not causing her any issues at the moment. She is neutered.

Kia has been around older visiting children but not youngsters so needs a home where any children are over the age of 16. Kia needs to be the only pet in the home as she doesn’t really like other dogs. She may bark/lunge at some dogs on walks, particularly small dogs and terrier types, so care will need to be taken with this. She doesn’t like cats.

Kia will benefit from a home with someone around for most of the day but she could be left alone for a couple of hours. This poor girl must be so confused without her beloved owner, it is truly heart breaking. Freshfields desperately hope that she will be offered a new home very soon.

Kia is not at Freshfields kennels, so you need to phone them first to arrange an appointment to meet her.

Could you help poor Kia?
