Sensitive soul Belle is a 10-year-old Schnauzer Cross in the care of Mayhew Animal Home in Kensal Green, North West London. She’s looking for a peaceful retirement home with one or two people to dote on, who will be at home most of the time.
Belle wants to be the only pet in an adult-only home. She’s quite nervous about some things, children included, so she needs owners with experience of dogs with anxiety. She’s ever so sweet and soppy when she’s relaxed!
On walks, Belle prefers to avoid other dogs. If an unruly one gets too close, she will tell them where to go. She’d much rather have her walks in quiet places where she won’t be pestered. Her hearing is not reliable so she needs to be kept on the lead unless you’re in a completely secure field. She loves getting out in the sunshine for a good roll on the grass!
As with other dogs, she’s a bit nervy about new people. She warms up to people in her own time and cannot be rushed. Once she trusts someone, she loves a fuss!
Belle is the perfect dog for someone wanting a loyal companion. She loves having company. Once she’s settled in her new home, time left alone can be gradually built up but she’d always rather have her human nearby so she can snooze with confidence.
Belle travels OK in the car but she’s not altogether quiet. She’ll make the odd exclamation about what’s going on out of the window. She’s an amusing best friend to have around and has the most expressive, comical ears!
In her new home, she will need a secure garden and space for her toys!
Belle is spayed, vaccinated and flea/worm treated. She had 3 non-cancerous cysts removed and had her ears cleaned. She’ll be the perfect, loving companion for someone who’s experienced with nervous dogs. She’s the sweetest soul you could ever wish to meet!
