Cute and cuddly Albie is an 8 year old Bichon Frise/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Cross who is looking for his forever home after his owners divorced and moved into pet-free accommodation. He is now in a foster home in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Summary: Albie is the absolute dream gentleman. He loves cuddles and fuss and loves to be with you. He is just the sweetest little man. He is very laid-back, enjoys his short walks and exploring.

Settled quickly in foster care: It took only a couple of hours for Albie to settle in at his foster home and was exploring the bungalow as soon as he came in; he looked like he was smiling all the time going from room to room.

Fine to be left: Albie can be left for a few hours and could also live in a home with full-time workers as long as he had a walk or garden break at lunchtime.

Prefers to be the only dog: Albie hasn’t lived with other dogs in his foster home, but it’s believed he would like to be the only dog. However, if introductions were made and he got on with them, there shouldn’t be a problem. When out on walks, he will look at other dogs but isn’t interested. If they come say hello, he will happily oblige.

Unknown with cats: It’s not known if he has lived with cats previously, but he does tend to try chase the odd one he has seen out on his walks. So he probably needs a cat-free home.

Loves children: Albie is absolutely fantastic with children. He will go over and have a sniff to say hello, then he will go and lay down. He is good with the foster carer’s grandchildren.

Enjoys a walk: Albie is walked on an extension lead and walks on the left-hand side. He loves to stop and sniff and explore. Since being in foster care, he has lost weight and is more nimble on his legs. He gets so excited when he knows it’s time for a walk. He walks for around 15 minutes twice a day and loves a nice, big garden where he will just potter about most of the time in between naps.

Perfect in the car: Albie loves being in the car. He sits on the back seat with a seat belt.

Albie’s favourite pastimes: Albie just loves sleeping and cuddling!

Albie’s dislikes: He doesn’t seem to be frightened of anything.

Albie’s ideal home: His perfect home would be one where he will have endless cuddles. He would like living in an adult home or one with older children who will respect that he likes to have peaceful napping time. He can get up stairs but struggles to get down and tends to sleep on the sofa.

Health notes: Albie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. He is completely deaf due to having both ear canals and drums removed. This has no effect on his life style as he understands hand signals. He has a metal plate in his back left leg, and again this is not a problem for him.

Albie needs to be groomed every 4 weeks in summer and 6 weeks in winter. Due to his not moulting, it is essential for his comfort especially in summer with a thick coat.

More from Albie’s foster carer: He is a cuddly, loving, funny and chilled boy. He only barks when he’s excited about getting his breakfast or tea and does little jumps which is so funny to see. Albie’s new family would be very very lucky to have him in their lives. He is the sweetest little lad I have encountered. He is very laid back and enjoys his short walks exploring.

If you would like to offer adorable Albie a permanent home, please read our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club Rehoming Coordinator as follows:

Albie can be rehomed anywhere on the U.K. mainland – the closer to his foster home the better – subject to a satisfactory home visit. Note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to collect him.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
