This is a very urgent appeal for a pet-free foster home, available immediately, for Joey the 3-legged French Bulldog. You need to be within a 3-hour drive of Coventry.
Joey is an 8-year-old French Bulldog who came to us due to his owner’s housing situation. Joey was much loved and his owner was very sad to part with him. Joey is an adorable and fun-loving boy, but is too much for the resident dogs at his foster home. He needs a pet-free home where any children are aged 12+.
We will arrange transport to Joey’s new foster home, but it needs to be within a 2- to 3-hour drive of Coventry. Please only offer if your home is a good match for Joey’s needs and if you will be able to get forms filled in quickly and have a homecheck straight away. If you have holiday coming up over the summer/autumn, this won’t work for fostering Joey.
Joey is a very fit, strong and agile boy despite only having three legs. He lost his right front leg as a puppy due to an injury. The dogs in his current foster home are fed up with Joey trying to hump them.
He is otherwise a great dog to be around, and he went out to the pub with his foster carers one evening and behaved brilliantly. What a superstar!
At night, Joey settles well in his bed downstairs and his foster carer hasn’t heard a peep from him through the night and he has been clean. Having spent some time recently where he had to live in a garden, he isn’t keen on being left alone in the garden.
He’s had a vet-check and his eyes, ears, heart, teeth and coat are all in good condition. His blood test results came back normal. He had a hot-spot on his skin which his foster carer is cleaning with Hibiscrub. Joey weighs 11kg. He isn’t yet neutered and this will need to be done when he is in his new foster home. Oldies Club will cover the cost of the neutering and any other medical care for Joey until he is adopted.
Joey is very loving towards humans, and on walks his foster carer has not had any issues with him and other dogs. Joey loves walks; he is energetic and loves to sniff. His foster carers tried putting him in a buggy due to the hot weather, but Joey was having none of it and wanted to walk on his own 3 legs, thank you very much.
Although we are initially seeking a foster home, we would be very happy to hear from anyone wanting to foster Joey with a view to adopting him.
Could you offer Joey a foster home where he will be your only pet?
