24/11/09  Poor Alfie has died.  He was living with a volunteer from Doris Banham Dog Rescue for his last few months so he had the best of care and went with dignity.   Rest in peace, Alfie

Alfie is a wire-haired Terrier cross who is currently in a Doris Banham foster home in Leeds. He was rescued from the dog pound and his foster mum says he was quite nervous when he arrived and would cower when stroked. He’s obviously not experienced much love or care in the past, poor old boy.

Alfie is settling into his foster home quite well and is happily living alongside two female dogs. He loves a cuddle and would like to find a forever home with someone who will shower him with love and affection. His foster mum describes him as “old, wobbly and very cute”.

Alfie has a good appetite and he loves his sleep too, but still gets excited when it’s time to go for a wander in the garden.

Alfie’s vet has confirmed that he’s about 10-12 years old. His lungs, heart and teeth are all good, but he has some stiffness in his hindquarters due to his age. He’s therefore quite happy with short walks or regular strolls in the garden.

Alfie is neutered and worm and flea-treated and will be vaccinated before being rehomed.
