Lucky was born on 8th May 2002 and she’s spent quite a lot of her years on the racetrack. She’s also suffered many racing injuries as a result, one of which was a badly broken hock which is fortunately now mended. Lucky is in the care of Kama’s Cave, the East Anglian branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust, but she’s been waiting there since Dec 2008 and hasn’t had any luck finding a new home.
As you can see from her photos, Lucky is a very beautiful silver brindle girl and she has a wonderful sweet nature to go with her gorgeous looks. She loves people and will be your friend for life if you give her some fuss and a nice ear rub.
Lucky can’t live with cats or small dogs and although she has mixed with some of the other greyhounds at the centre she can get quite excited around them. Because of this Kama’s Cave are hoping to find her a new home where she can be the only dog.
Lucky isn’t up for really long walks because of her previous racing injuries, so she’d be more than happy with a short stroll in the park or just to potter around and play with her toys in the garden.
Out and about she’ll sometimes show off and bark at other dogs, so she will either suit a greyhound-experienced person who is used to this behaviour or someone who is retired and can give her company during the day and plenty of time out in the garden.
Just like most greyhounds, Lucky dreams of a comfortable sofa or a soft warm bed where she can enjoy a lazy retirement. She’s quite small for a greyhound too, so she promises not to take up too much space!
Lucky is neutered, fully vaccinated and has been flea and worm treated. As with all dogs adopted from Kama’s Cave, she comes with four weeks free insurance.
