10/12/12 We’ve heard the sad news from Doris Banham that Purdy has recently passed away. Sleep tight Purdy :(

Purdy’s exact age isn’t known but she’s an older girl and is now slowing down a lot. She’s a gorgeous Staffy girl who is in a Doris Banham Dog Rescue foster home in Boston, Lincolnshire. Purdy has been waiting at her foster home for over a year now.

Purdy is a calm girl who is very loving. She’s like a little piglet, and grunts away in true staffy style! Purdy is fabulous with people but she will need to be the only pet in her new home.

Purdy has very good manners around the home and she doesn’t jump up or climb on the furniture. She is good with visitors and clean in the house. Purdy would be fine to live in a working family provided she had a garden break halfway through the day — she can be left for up to 5 hours and she just sleeps when left.

Purdy is good with children and should be fine to live with children over about 5 years old. She doesn’t jump up, but as she is quite a large girl she might accidentally knock a very small child over.

Purdy doesn’t need much in the way of walking but she enjoys being out in the garden, so she’d like a home with a garden to potter and sunbathe in. Purdy is not possessive with food or toys.

Here is an update from Purdy’s foster carer:

Purdy is doing well but getting a little stiff. She is on a special diet to get her weight down a bit, which will help. She has been with me for over a year and I would love to find her a home of her own. Her only issue is that she doesn’t like other animals, she is however fantastic with people. She doesn’t ask for much and is well behaved. She is house trained and doesn’t bark or jump up on the furniture. All she wants is a warm bed and a small garden to potter about in and lay in the sun when it is warm. She enjoys sleeping, sun bathing and having her tummy tickled!
