16/03/18 – Bert and Ernie have found a lovely home together! Hooray!

Bert (left) and Ernie (right) are best pals and Ernie is Bert’s dad. Bert is a 7 year old Collie X Terrier and Ernie is a 9 year old Terrier cross. Came to be in the care of Dogs Trust Darlington from being in stray kennels in Scotland. They can live with children from around 14 years. They are lovely lads and absolutely depend on each other.

Ernie is an easy-going old sweetie. He still loves his walks and is a pleasure to have around. Bert relies on Ernie for feeling that all is right with the world. He’s less human oriented than Ernie but does like playing with people!

They can be a bit, um, embarrassing when meeting other dogs as they both try to dominate the conversation… by humping the newcomer. Ernie will sometimes bark too. If you prefer quiet walks, it’s best to take them out to places you’re unlikely to meet any impatient dogs, especially if you’re in polite company!

Bert and Ernie are both neutered. Ernie has a lipoma but it doesn’t need removing and Bert has no known medical issues.

Life with these two older gents will be full of fun, love and humour. If you can offer them the retirement home they’re looking for, please contact Dogs Trust Darlington as follows:
