22/4/18 – We are so pleased to hear that, thanks to his appearance on the Oldies Club website, Bobby has found his perfect new home where he has plenty of company and a lovely garden, with people who are experienced with characterful terriers. What an excellent result for this very deserving little dog.

Bobby is Parson Russell Terrier aged about 8 or 9 who is in the care of RSPCA Essex South, Southend & District Branch after a traumatic couple of weeks following the death of his elderly owner and stress of moving suddenly to a busy home with children. After years in a quiet home with a one to one relationship with his doting owner, Bobby struggled to cope with young children and eventually snapped at one of them.

The family decided they had to try to find a rescue place for Bobby, but they had no success and it seemed that the only option was to have Bobby put to sleep. They were heartbroken. Bobby was taken to the vets that he had attended for years and they felt that, in the right home, Bobby would be a different dog and much easier to manage. The vets contacted RSPCA Southend branch who thankfully agreed to take Bobby in.

In kennels, Bobby proved to be a sociable and happy boy who loves his walks (he pulls with excitement) and loves to jump on any available lap for some fuss. Bobby has now moved to a foster home in Southend, living with a lady and her teenage son. They have found him to be a true character who, although very affectionate on his own terms, does not like people leaning over him or approaching him if he is asleep or resting. But once you are aware of this, it isn’t a problem to remember to not do those things. Bobby is settling in well and sleeps quietly in his basket at night. He is fully house trained too.

Bobby definitely deserves a chance of a new home. He needs an adult only home with no other dogs or cats. Someone who understands terriers and their fabulous determined characters will be best. He just needs a quiet, stable home with sensible owners.

Bobby is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worming treatment. He will come with 6 weeks free insurance. A homecheck and donation apply.
