27/11/18 – Bruno has found a new home – yay!

Ta-da! Bruno the 13 year old Staffy (who acts like a puppy) is here to entertain you! Well, that is, he’s in foster care in the Gloucester area, through Senior Staffy Club. He can live with dog savvy children from age 12 but not cats. He had better be an only dog too because, even though he thinks other dogs are great fun, they always seem to tell him off for being too bouncy!

Here’s Bruno in his own words, “I love to go on walks, I bounce around playing and I have a “funny 5 minutes” at least 3 times a day. But, just like a puppy, one minute I’m ready to play, the next minute I’m flat out, snoring my head off.

“I love to potter around the garden and snooze in the sun but most of all, I’m happiest when I’m sat on the sofa with my humans having ‘cwtches’.” (A cwtch, pronounced cutch, is a cuddle in Welsh. Bruno must be bilingual. He’s very bright!)

Bruno is good in the house and can be left for a while but he’d really like a home where he has company a lot of the time. He’s still nervous of going in the car. This should keep improving with every outing that turns out to be fun!

Bruno is only now learning how to play with toys! It seems he’d previously just played with empty bottles and sticks. He’s getting the hang of it though…

His hearing and eyesight are what you’d expect of a mature gentleman. This and occasional selective deafness mean that having treats for recall is a must!

Bruno is basically a very happy and affectionate boy. He’s developed some attention seeking tactics over the years but is learning to be more polite these days. He’d better tell you about them himself…

Bruno again, “…when I think you’ve ignored me for a bit too long, I normally start with barking at you, if I don’t get a response then I’ll try a few other different ways to see which will get a response.

It’s not unknown for me to find a piece of tissue or paper to rip up and then I’ll throw it around until you acknowledge me, if that still doesn’t work, then I might lay on my back and wriggle around making staffy noises. All in all – I just want you to love me!

“I do have my puppy-like behaviours, but they are far outweighed by my loving personality. Everyone I meet loves me and my cheeky character.”
