18/8/18 – Florence has found a home!
—————–

Florence is a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel who’s in foster care in Somerset through Dogs Friends. Until recently, she had spent her whole life working (breeding).  She had not been in a house or experienced affection. She has emerged as a Love Sponge. Flo Cocker will absorb as much affection as you offer, her spaniel eyes looking at you, as if to sing:  “You Are So Beautiful, to me”.

Not surprisingly, Florence has a matronly figure, but she is quite nimble when she runs. She does not need a lot of exercise, but will happily tootle along beside you, on or off the lead. She is friendly with both humans and dogs. Her tail is very talented – she can do horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and large circles – but then she practices a lot!

She came from the puppy farm with a best friend, Becca, a Miniature Schnauzer. They are being fostered together. While it would be lovely if they were also to be adopted together, this is not essential. What is important is that they should have company – all their lives they have had other dogs about.

Florence was very food oriented when she arrived, getting over-excited at meal times, barking and circling. She is improving all the time.

Almost inevitably, she has some medical problems, full details of which will be provided. In particular, she has problems with her eyes which are likely to require drops several times a day for the rest of her life, a procedure she accepts with equanimity. She will need a special caring home but whatever you put in with Florence she will repay tenfold!
