24/04/18 – Lovely Honey has found a new home!

Honey is a beautiful 14 year old Labrador who sadly needs a new home as she was having to be left alone for a long time throughout the day. Her heartbroken owner has handed Honey over to Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool, in the hope that she will find a wonderful home for her retirement years.

Sweet Honey has been well looked after and loved all of her life and she must be feeling very sad and confused. Luckily she is in a fantastic foster home so that she does not have to be in kennels while she waits for her new forever home.

Despite being 14 and a little unsteady on her legs, Honey is in amazing condition for her age and can still manage short walks. She is a little hard of hearing but this doesn’t seem to affect her.

Honey used to live with a female Labrador who sadly passed away about 18 months ago. Honey is fine with dogs on walks and could live with a calm, well-mannered dog who will respect her space. She will chase cats. Honey is gentle around children but due to her age would prefer a quiet home, so any children would need to be older ones.

Honey was diagnosed with incontinence in her last home; she is housetrained but may leak urine on her bedding. This is being controlled with medication. She has just had a blood test and a biopsy of a lump and Freshfields hope to have the results soon.

Honey is such a sweet-natured girl and greets everyone with a waggy tail, she loves attention and fuss and will make an absolutely fantastic friend. Could you offer her a new home and happiness for the rest of her days?
