2/10/18 – Marley has gone off to a new home!

Marley is a 9-year-old Chihuahua boy who is at Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home on the Lincolnshire coast.

Marley was in his former home from being a puppy. He was recently rehomed privately, however he was brought to the Ark after only 24 hours in the new home as he had bitten the 6-year-old child in the family and he didn’t get on with the other dogs in the house.

Marley has been on his best behaviour at the Ark, but he is said to have a tendency to nip and doesn’t like being picked up. Marley doesn’t really like men and prefers women, although he has been fine with male members of staff at the Ark.

Marley needs a home with no children or other pets. He isn’t a lap dog at all and needs an experienced owner who will train him to have good manners and walk nicely on the lead.

Marley might not be fully house-trained but he has apparently been left for up to 6 hours in the kitchen in his own bed. He doesn’t play with toys. In the car he travels fine on the back seat or footwell. Marley pulls on the lead and he is reactive to other dogs. He hasn’t been taught recall.

Marley will be a challenge for someone with the patience and experience to train him to be a more sociable dog. He will be a very rewarding dog with the right person.
