Stunning Yoshi is unbelievably still waiting for a home. He’s being rehomed by Friends of Akitas Trust. You might be wondering about his unusual name. In Japanese, the term Yoshi denotes good luck, and virtue and respectability. It suits this boy perfectly. Yoshi is exceedigly respectful and polite, always the gentleman!

Yoshi is 9 years old and he plans on living his golden years to the full, enjoying a game of fetch, trotting happily around the garden and spending lots of quality time with his humans. He adores human company and is a cuddly and affectionate boy who is happy to wear his heart on his sleeve and shower you with love.

Yoshi lives up to his name in terms of virtue and respectability. He is lead and house trained and has no problem with guarding food or toys. He is always interested in learning new things and is highly motivated by treats. He is a sweet cuddly teddy bear who can live with older children who are used to dogs.

Despite his lovely nature, Yoshi is used to being the only pet in the home and he would like to keep it that way!

Here is what Friends of the Akitas has to say about Yoshi:

“This stunning boy is literally your best friend in waiting. He is extremely loving and affectionate and enjoys spending time with his family, either simply following you about with you daily goings on, or settling down together for a nice long cuddle.

“Yoshi is very obedient and knows a range of commands including waiting for his food, paw, sit and various other requests.

“A true gentleman is what can best describe Yoshi, he is everything you could ask from a best friend, attentive, loyal, comforting and very loving. He also has a playful side and likes to run in circles around the garden or will even play fetch (a rarity for an Akita!).

“He walks well with the aid of a head collar and can be quite strong without, so his new owners may want to continue with this method. He travels well in the car and is always eager to go out exploring!”

Age is after all just a number! If you are looking for a good luck charm and can provide, security, love and friendship to this loving and gentle soul, please contact Friends of Akitas Trust as follows:
