7/1/20 – We are delighted to hear that beautiful Bailey has found her new home at last!
Beautiful Bailey is an 8-year-old Collie x German Shepherd girl who is with Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool due to the ill-health of her owner. Bailey was a loyal and faithful companion to her owner who was heartbroken to have to part with her. It is such a sad situation for all concerned.
And this isn’t poor Bailey’s first time at Freshfields either as she was originally there in 2016 when her then family’s new baby arrived. Freshfields are very sad for Bailey that she is back through no fault of her own and they hope she will soon find a loving home.
Bailey is a gorgeous girl who is fabulously cheeky and full of character. In her younger days she would open doors and had also been known to jump fences, although she has not done any of this recently. Freshfields are looking for a home for her with fencing of at least 6 feet though, just as a precaution.
Bailey is used to having children visit her home, but she would benefit from a quiet home where any children are aged 16+. Bailey tolerates some dogs on walks but can be reactive to some, and she doesn’t like cats. She needs to be the only pet in her new home.
Bailey has had ear issues in the past, but after a course of medication at Freshfields they are fine now. Her ears will need to be kept an eye on though and, as she is sensitive around her ears and can become upset when the vet examines them, she wears a muzzle for vet examinations, which she doesn’t mind. Bailey now trusts the staff at Freshfields and so they can clean or treat her ears without a muzzle as she is by no means an aggressive dog, just apprehensive.
Bailey’s coat was quite dry and full of dandruff when she arrived, but now that she is on a hypo-allergenic diet her coat is lovely and the flare-ups of her ears also seem to have been reduced.
Bailey is in fantastic health for her age and is still full of energy and can be strong on the lead as she absolutely loves her walks. She also loves playing fetch – tennis balls are her favourite and she has quite a collection in her kennel.
Bailey is a friendly, sweet-natured girl. She is clean in the home and really is no trouble at all. She will make a fantastic addition to her new family.
