Bojangles and Cassie are an absolutely gorgeous pair of Golden Retrievers and both are 10 years old. They came into rescue with Irish Retriever Rescue as they were starting to find the children in their home too much to cope with and are seeking a nice, quiet home together without children. Until then, they are enjoying their foster home in Burnley, Lancashire.

Cassie and Bojangles are super house dogs. They are quite happy to be left together for reasonable lengths of time. They settle around the house well, sleep all night and are very clean. They are happy with 45 minute walks but do pull a bit on their leads now they have become more excited about going for a walk.

Cassie and Bojangles both coped very well in unfamiliar surroundings. They have been exemplary in the car and thoroughly enjoy new walks and new routines. They are both really good with other dogs having lived with them before, but both do show hunting instincts so a cat-free home would probably be best for them.

Bojangles is a lovely, sweet and affectionate girl who is game for most things. She answers to Bojo or Bobo and is the more outgoing of the pair. She loves the company of people more than Cassie and will come to be fussed. She is up for more excitement in life. Bojangles seems to be in good health but, on arrival, she was overweight at 26.1kg. In just 10 days, Bojo has lost 0.6kg but she does need to lose more. She is on Metacam for a limp that becomes more noticeable after exercise.

Shortly after arrival, Cassie tended to take herself off to a quiet corner during the day and gave the appearance of being timid and wary of people. A few days on, Cassie is learning to trust people and is becoming less withdrawn and timid. She now joins in the household routines more positively rather than watching from the side-lines. She likes a nice quiet life so she couldn’t cope in a noisy house with children. Cassie seems to be in good health but she was very overweight at 29.9kg. In just 10 days, Cassie has already lost 0.8kg. She had hyperkeratosis which is now under control and the feet are just checked every couple of weeks to make sure it hasn’t come back.

Bojangles and Cassie are both spayed, have been vet checked and have had the rabies vaccinations necessary to obtain their Pet Passports. They would love to live in a quiet, adult household and they would be quite happy being with someone who just wants a 30-minute walk around the block. They can be left together happily for reasonable lengths of time, but it would be wonderful if their forever adopter had as much time as possible to spend with them. For sure, these two lovely girls will make great companions for the lucky people who can fulfil their wish lists.
